Hi,
I've just signed on after looking at your website for a few years. I
have a 1961 Bambi that my husband and I inherited from his family about
8 years ago. We live in Nova Scotia, Canada and so far have only used
the trailer fairly locally. Although it is in pretty good shape, we are
a little nervous about the wear and tear of a long trip on an old trailer.
The trailer is in pretty good condition I think, with a lot of its
original detail. About a year ago we cracked the ceramic part of the
burner of the fridge while trying to clean it. Up until then the fridge
was working as long as we cleaned the burner regularly. Is it possible
to find replacement parts for those old Dometic fridges? We are
reluctant to replace it because it is a nice brown colour that matches
the range. The other thing in the fridge that needs replacing is the
little circular gaskets that go on the holes where you attach the shelves.
When we first got it we rigged up an arrangment whereby we could sleep
our young family of 5 reasonably comfortably. We haven't tried it lately
now that our kids are older.
