[VAL] Progress with the '72 Trade Wind

My brother-in-law arrived this weekend to help me with the 72 Trade
Wind Ive been working on. We managed to get the LP gas going to all
appliances. Next came work on the hot water heater. He took that
thing all apart, regulator and all before getting it to fire and
produce hot water. Had a bug nest in the burner!

Next came the frig which now works on both gas and electric. The stove
top works but havent lit the oven yet. We tried to light the furnace
but could not get the pilot to work. Removed the furnace which turned
out to be a simple task. Found three mud dauber nests and two wasp
nests in it! The flue gasket needs to be replaced as well as the pilot
gas line. It has two broken nuts at the adjustment screw! Never have
seen that before. Glad it didnt start when we tried to light it.

I have the under-sink water system all apart due to leaking lines and
age cracked plastic fittings. Some of the wiring under there is a mess
too. Starting all over.

I really appreciate the help I have received from this list. Several
have written me off-list offering suggestions. Im getting closer to
the day when the old AS will be on the road again.

See you down by the barn . . . .
