Jackson Center installed one (with both thermostat and rain sensor) for me last October in the forward vent opening.  Used it in Texas this 
winter in the sun and with ambient temps up to 85.  Worked fantastic-ally.  Never had to run the AC (as we always have in previous winters), 
never had to open more than the one window in back, always shut down when real rain began, never failed.  As cynical as I am. I can not 
fault it.
