Here's your chance for your dream Airstream. This unit is completely new and unregistered.
There is even plastic over the mattress and toilet. If you haven't seen the inside of the CCD
Airstream do yourself a favor and get to a dealer immediately. This is not the old fashioned
wood grained model. The entire interior is ultra modern.
From what I can tell the unit rolled off the transport truck at a low speed on the way to the
dealer. Yes, the top is crunched but there are no scratches indicating high speed crash. The
Airstream tows perfect and no frame damage is apparent.
This is the perfect project for you do it yourselfers. If you are looking to restore an older
Airstream or looking for a custom Airstream this is a no brainer. If you are handy around the
house this is also a no brainer. For a 1/4 of the new price of the Airstream it can be restored
or you can hammer the structure into shape and waterproof the front window and be done.
I am in the middle of my home renovation and do not have the space to perform the restoration
of the Airstream. The trailer can be viewed in Santa Ynez, CA, 45 minutes north of Santa
Barbara, by appointment only.
Here are my plans for the trailer:
Remove most everything out of the interior (simple
unbolting cabinets).
Remove the interior aluminum panels that are creased. Just drill out rivets.
Remove the exterior aluminum panels that are creased. Just drill out rivets.
Remove the aluminum ribs/ studs that are bent.
Replace all
I estimate this will take 1 month to complete for my worker with my help with the replacement.
I have semi skilled labor for $10/hr. Total cost labor $1600. Materials are estimated at
approx $4000. So for the cost of the trailer and approximately $5600, you can have a 2004
Airstream CCD Bambi trailer that is worth over $45,000!
Trust me when I state this opportunity will not arise again. Who has got $45,000 laying around
for an Airstream? Now you can get your dream Airstream for approximately ¼ of that!
This is my assessment of the condition of the trailer.
All utility systems seem to be
in good working order. The air conditioner cover on the top is gone but the air conditioner
seems to be fine.
Everything is included as purchased new and is new except the following: batteries,
propane tanks, and air conditioner cover.
The trailer tows perfect and LED driving lights all work.
The following are added optional options:
Wrap Protectors
Stone Guard
Spare Tire
Front Sofa instead of table and seats (sleeps more people)
I can store trailer for some time at a minimal cost. I may also be able to transport the
trailer in California for $1/ mile. All arrangements to be made before the auction. Do not
assume anything.
