[VAL] furnance noise

I tried out our newly purchased 74 AS furnance and it made a sqeeling noise
like the fan needed oiling... got down and checked, the fan and motor move
freely and were not making the noise. they weren't even moving when the noise
was being made..

My question is...???? what's making that noise?   does the furnance have a fan
to blow fresh air into the heat exchanger?

Where can i get a service book that covers items like the funance, hot water
heater , refridge , etc
