[VAL] bathtub/shower caulking

Hi Folks,

My 1973 center bath shower is a mess. It has been caulked 
with every type known to man, I think. Once I get it all 
cleaned up, what is the best thing to use ?

I also wonder if the slide in plastic cover strips that go 
into the aluminum channel to hide the rivet heads is still 
available.

And going in a wildly different direction, does anyone have 
any idea what a stainless replacement for the shower 
pan/seat would cost ? That's what I'd really like, instead 
of bandaging this one.
