Re: [VAL] replacement chassis

David,

I understand that the deck is mounted to the chassis frame, then the
"U" channels at the base of the shell are bolted through the floor and
frame to laminate the whole thing into one structure. Apparently
removing the shell is just a matter of cutting the through bolts and
gently lifting the shell. Then the floor is removed. At least I hope
it's that easy, as I have at least 2 shell offs to accomplish in the
near future.

A friend of ours has a 6.7 Metre for sale in northern New Jersey (New
York metro area). It needs an axles, and she is not in a position to
have the work done. Contact me off list if it looks like something you
might be interested in for parting out. IIRC when Anthony Slockock had
his trailer shipped to the UK it was surprisingly inexpensive. (At
least it seemed that way to me.)

If I understood Anthony correctly, electric brakes do not meet your MOT
requirements. Does your chassis have surge brakes?

See the trailer at: http://community.webshots.com/userwornmatt in the
"Niki's Argosy" folder.
