I have heard so many horror stories about travelling
through Mexico that it never occured to me that one
might drive to Belize.  (Regretably, many involved the
supposed law enforcement agencies.) I know that there
is more safety in numbers, but isn't it still
dangerous? 

I would be very interested in hearing details of how
the caravan addressed the issue of safety/security en
route.  I think it would be very interesting to do if
it were reasonably safe.
