Re: [VAL] maiden voyage this weekend!

Bob,

You asked: "...don't you have a furnace in your rig?"

No furnace in my rig...it was removed by the previous owner, a long time
before I bought the trailer.

I don't use the stove burners for very long, just enough to knock down the
chill and melt the frost, so the little catalytic on the wall can maintain the
warmth in the room. Certainly not long enough to eat up all the oxygen in the
place, but after ten minutes or so, with a small pan of water on one of the
burners, and the coach is creaking, popping, expanding and coming to life,
just like I hope to do the following morning. So far, so good!

And you advised: "...you should listen to the stove manufacturer, they say NO
use of the stove to heat the trailer."

I'm sure they're right, especially for the sole heat source. I'm not
recommending anybody else do it the way I do, I'm just sharing my procedure,
right or wrong.

I also use a propane torch to heat the thermocouple on the water heater, so I
don't have to squat outside in the rain, holding down that stupid little
button until the pilot light does the job. Doubtless they'd have a few things
to say about that, too!

But thanks for your concern,

Mark in Modesto, running with scissors.
