[VAL] Salt Corrosion

Hello All,
I've just finished refastening the belly skin of my '56 Caravanner. Before I
bought it, it must have been exposed to salted roads, since when I polished
it there was a lot more pitting down low and in the front than anywhere
else. As I was refastening the bottom, I noticed that there is also a
covering of white flaky corrosion on the aluminum belly skin. I don't want
this to get worse. Does anyone know of a solution I can mix or buy to remove
the residual salt from the aluminum and stop it from eating more every time
it gets wet?
Thanks,
Brian Jenkins
