Hi Marg,

My '62 was wired for both AC (110volt house wiring) and DC (12v battery) at
the factory.  I'm sure yours was as well.

Mine even has double light fixtures, one for AC and the other for DC.  The
only rub is that the 'candlebases' (the part of the lightbulb that screws into
the socket) are identical and, if you mix 'em up, one doesn't work at all (the
AC bulb in the DC socket), and the other one works really really well...for
about 1/60 of a second...then ya get to buy another one. Oh well...I won't do
THAT again!
