Hi John, I can understand your frustration.  We had a 1951 Crusette. As 
you know these were painted white from mid-body over the top. The one we 
got had been painted silver, over the white.  We used plain or Jasco from 
the hardware store. It took two applications, but the paint of the 50's 
and 60's had alot of stuff that is not in paint nowadays.  You might check 
with a bodyshop, they miht have a secret snake oil.  Let us know how you 
make out with the Jasco.  I would try to stay away from the steel wool, 
it leaves small steel fibers, hat eventually rust. I have polished 7 
trailers. Of course, they all polish a little different. If you would like
