That happened to our '83 and now has happened to our '88.  We have a
deadbolt so are able to lock the door both from inside and with the key
outside, but we haven't been able to find a replacement. Airstream
company told us the manufacturer is no longer in business. We have been
offered a "retro fit" both from Oasis RV in Tucson and Inland RV in
Corona, Ca, but it requires cutting the hole larger.  Haven't done it
yet, still looking for someone who has a spare.
