This may be over simple but could you not just run a fish tape behind 
the shower.  I have done that many times for wires and pull a plastic 
pipe back in.   Use compression fittings to tie back into the good pipe 
then head down the road.
We pull a 1970 29 ft TT E/W rear bath and I found I had a lot of room 
along the back side of the tub to pull wires or pipes.
