There is a by pass kit that you can buy, and then you just drain the hot water tank. I went and bought one for my '73, but it is plumbed in with copper and I chickened out on the project. Now I drain everything , blow all the water lines out with an aircompressor and put antifreeze in the traps and the potty. Takes about 1/2 gal ! Daisy
