I am about to order a furnace for my 22 ' 1963 flying cloud . I was wondering
how many btu furnaces similar size trailers came with for various years (even
recent trailers ) . I took a 24000 btu furnace out of it , I dont know if it was
the original , but I am thinking of upping the btu of the new one as I live in
the frozen north , below freezing here the other night , STILL , and I am known
for dry camping late (and early )in the season. Heck , summer here last from the
fourth of july thru first weekend in august ,then it starts getting cold again .
I am not afraid of running an extra vent , however I dont want to have the
thing cycling all the time on just the chilly night and burning the controls up
, nor do I want to lay in bed with my teeth chattering if I go in november . Or
burn it up from running constantly .
I have reinsulated the whole thing so that will help . One thing in favor of
24000 btu is that they draw 3.5 amps as opposed to 5.5 for 30000 btu , which
would be good when I`m on solar and battery only , which is most of my camping .
Any thoughts , anyone gone here before me ?
