according to a local auto paint store - what you want
is *not* HVLP but rather a traditional high pressure
spray gun. Here's why:
HVLP means "High Volume, Low Pressure"
- okay so considering that the way zolatone works is
that it floats little globs of paint inside of a
carrier paint (to get that splatter paint look) you
want to shoot that paint out of the gun at high
pressure so the globs "splat."
I know - highly technical explanation, but the point
is that you want to use a pressure feed gun - the old
style high pressure - to spray this stuff, because you
have to get the "splat" and you're not going to get
the results you want with HVLP. HVLP creates less
paint dust - which is good for not only the
environment, but for uses like auto refinishing - but
it's not good for this application.
*AND* high pressure guns are cheaper!
