I've used short lengths of rubber hose to protect wires from rubbing in holes
in the frame. It can be split and spread to go over the wire(s). Then I taped
it to the wire(s) with electrical tape. It won't slide on the wire(s) out of
the hole, and the wires won't chafe on the hose.
Even if it eventually rubbed thru the wire insulation shorts would be
unlikely.
