Several weeks ago, I believe it was Elisa that asked about unsticking stuck
waste valves. I wrote then that I was having limited success with septic tank
enzxmes, but still had some dripping leakage. I can now report that the
enzymes worked, no drip and no sewage in the end cap when I remove it to dump.
This was done with one can of septic tank enzyme material, cheapest brand on
the shelf. When not using our trailer, I made sure the end cap was on, the
valves closed as much as possible and put in a couple of gallons of water in
both the gray and black waste tanks with a couple of table spoons of the
enzyme, so the dump valves would be immersed. On the next trip, with each
dump I could tell the valves were closing easier and felt more closed. After
a week back at home with the soaking method, the valves quit leaking. We have
Just completed 2 eight day trips with a week at home in between and the valves
work normally with no leakage. Next I am going to look at the ingredients of
a wetting agent, like that used in dishwashers, I am wondering if that will
serve to lubricate the slide surfaces. Any experts out there on wetting
agents? Ned Digh
