[VACList] Re: VACList Digest V3 #219

My two cents about the shower enclosure.

Virtually all campers I have been involved with had too small a
shower enclosure. To my way of thinking the most important thing is a
comfortable place to sleep and clean up. Thus origional is a bit
overrated for me. I completely gutted my 26 footer, fixed the floor
and then bought a standard plastic shower pan avaliable at home
depot. I then used exterior ply to form the enclosure by cutting it
to fit the curve and used very thin panneling along the wall its
self. I then used fiberglass cloth and thined my resin so it went on
more like wall paper, just enough to form a consistant water barrier
surrounding the entire enclosure. Now that I don't have to worry
about leaks, I do not have to be too worried about the corners. Most
home supply stores have the thin flexable plastic that is used as
roofing material on sun rooms or tops of pop up trailers, so I can
use that to make it look good without worring about leakage in the
corners.
