The short answer is "yes", there are generators around that run on propane.
Motorhomes have been using both gasoline and propane generators for a long
time now, not to forget that there are also *diesel* generators as well.  In
fact, it might even be more economical to run a diesel generator than one
run on propane.  Do you have a place to mount an outside generator where it
would be safe from theft?  What about a secure location to mount it for
travel?

A quick search on the Internet for "diesel+genators+portable" might yield a
lot of results.  Do this search without the quotes of course.
