 Jim and all ,
 It looked that way to me too , so I bought the pathfinder model (4.95 ),
which also needed a new hole for the wires to go thru , so I took the lens and
the spring and pigtail from the pathfinders , made a rubber/cork gasket
for the lens which is a close enough fit to the old base which I cleaned up
and Sems aluminim rust paint on . The old base was much stronger ,plus the
holes lined up .If  your sockets were bad you could adapt the pathfinder ones
onto the old base with a rivet . Took me about an hour per light x 10 lights ,
but I couldnt see putting that cheap base on and drilling a new hole for wires
.
