Hi David:

I just measured one of my original tanks and it was about 24" high from the
floor to the top of the valve guard at the top.  It is a 30# tank.  A
barbeque type tank is 20#.  A 40# tank is pretty tall although I don't know
the dimension.  So if it's around 24" tall it's almost certainly a 30#.

Also I noticed that among the other stampings there was a #7.  I imagine
that means 7 gallons (the volume of a 30# tank).
