Not all, of course - as my 64 Globe Trotter from OH had a clearcoat!

Take a rag w/ a little white toothpaste on it - rub it really well
on the trailer.  If the rag turns black, you do not have a clearcoat.
If there is no black, you do.

I found Aircraft Stripper worked the best on mine.  Have fun!
