Bobby,
 Those batteries don't like to be over-charged. First and foremost, be sure
that your charging system is up to snuff, if you're using a UniVolt, it
almost certainly is NOT. A decent lead-acid battery that is treated right
should last 4 or 5 years, perhaps more. That means an Inteli-Power converter
w/ Charge Wizard or equivilant.
