Additional thought. 1/8 in oak should not be that hard to bend. One year I 
made 4500 bent laminated sailboat tillers from 5/16 mahogany and ash. some 
had reather severe bends. suggest you try to bend in place using a hair drier 
on the severest bend. take it easy if that does not do it soak them inin 
water with a lot of fabric softner. the reason to use fabric softner is that 
wood is a cellulose materal and the coftner helpa and does not have a long 
term effect on the wood.to bend a couple of teaces of wood you do not need a 
bunch of elaberate gigs or a steam box.
