On a related note, I saw an ad for one of the
companies that sells weight-distributing hitches. 
They were emphasizing their experience in the
business.  To illustrate this point, they had what
appeared to be an old advertising photo showing their
product in use.

The picture showed two 70's era cars.  One was hitched
to a boat and the other to a trailer.  Neither vehicle
had rear wheels.  But, the trailer tongues were both
dead level and neither vehicle touched the ground in
the rear.  (I'm guessing those were the heavy duty
load bars!)  I don't recommend the practice, even if
you have front wheel drive.  But, it sure made a funny
picture, and it illustrated the concept very well.
