[VAC] Wheell balencing
Hi All,
Just removed the wheels/hubs to check the bearings, etc. on the '74 Argosy.
Thought I might find something that looked abnormal. Not so! Anyway, I
noticed that one of the drums wanted to move so a heavy section was at the
bottom. As I recall, there was mention that the tire/drum must be balanced
as a unit. Since I didn't mark the drum/wheel position, is it necessary to
balance the entire unit?
I also noticed that all four tires are different marks and/or ratings. Some
8 ply, some 6 ply some tube type and some tubeless. I think it's a mess!
All are substantially weather checked and I haven't been able to find the
manufacture date on the tires. Some are Canada others are U.S. manufacture.
Whew!
The question from this knowledgeable list "Do I balance the tires with the
rim and drum?"
