[VAC] door gasket

What is a good way to install a door gasket.  I have the new gasket material
for my '71 Safari.  I also have some tubes of rubber cement they (Oasis RV)
said to use to install it.

I have found that the rubber cement is a little gooey during the drying time
and feel it won't hold the gasket in the disired location.  I was thinking
of loading up with wooden clothes pins to hold the gasket in place around
the door as it dires.

Any other ideas?
