Not all the early automatics had coolers, some didn't need them as they had much less 
slippage than newer automatics. Most of the heat generated on an automatic is from the 
tourqe converter as it is constantly churning the fluid between the drive and driven 
halves. some automaticss used a fluid coupling that was bypassed in high gear so there 
was a solid connection from the engine to the rear end. They generated almost no heat 
at hiway speeds. Your dynaflow may be one of these.
