If you have a flat with a single axle trailer and don't have a spare, you
have a problem.

1. Unhook the trailer
2. Remove the flat tire and wheel
3. Take it to get it fixed, leaving the trailer
4. Return, hopefully to find the trailer there and undamaged.

Spare tires and wheels are inexpensive compared to the possible other costs.
