Don, those non-aluminum end caps on the Argosy are steel. It's been coated
with something to prevent rust (or make the original paint adhere better)
but will rust eventually if not protected.  I looked at an Argosy motor home
that the paint had been stripped off with an eye toward polishing it but the
idiot previous owner had used a sander to remove the last of the old paint.
I guess it could be painted aluminum color (as some have done) but that's
still a $3,500 paint job if done right. The materials alone will be $1,500
of that.
