Jeff. A 1000 watt generator is adequate to power your univolt. However, it 
would only need maximum power, if your battery was almost dead. If that is 
the case then you would not have any reserve from your generator for anything 
else. If the battery is part way down, then some reserve would be left for a 
TV as an example. Toasters, waffle irons, clothes irons, electric skillets, 
electric coffee pots and the like are all out of the   question, with a 1000 
watt generator.
