There are blind insert threaded nuts which can be installed in
the now oversize hole. These "nuts" look like a large Pop (or Olympic)
rivet which is installed with a Pop rivet tool. They are inserted from the
front, expand in and behind the hole, and leave a steel machine screw thread
which will take a standard bolt or machine screw.
Some come with a simple setting device which holds the rivet
while you tighten the screw with a wrench.
Your best source would be an industrial fastener dealer -
check the yellow pages.
