[VAC] Re: The floor from hell

Don't know for sure what you are trying to do, but just suppose the front is
similar to my '69 Safari.

I've included a picture of the rear, but the front is almost identical.

Anyway, the vertical skin just above the trim strip should have a couple of
rows of rivets, maybe 24 inches across. These rivets hold either an
aluminum or steel angle iron. The bottom of the "L"faces the body of the
trailer. As you look from the inside, if you removed the inner skin, you'll
see an inverted aluminum "U" channel. Immediately under this, you'll see
the flooring. What you don't see is what is holding all this stuff
together. The aluminum or iron angle fits immediately under the floor. The
bolts connect the floor, angle iron, to the frame. When the skin is
installed, long rivets clinch the aluminum "U" channel to the frame and
squeeze wood floor, and the angle iron between. Then, the outside rivets
are installed that hold the skin to the angle iron.

I had to section some of this by using a scab under the seams.

The rear section is easier as you can remove the cross frame member and drop
the angle iron. In the front, this isn't possible as the "A" frame, etc.
would have to be cut out.

Hope this is what you were asking for.
