[VAC] transmission flush

Does anyone know how to flush an automatic transmission?  I have just put on
an on-line filter if that helps any.  Is it common to put a drain plug in
the pan to simplify draining?

I have heard this mentioned in passing but don't know how to do it.  It
seems like it shouldn't be too hard, and the dealer wants >$100 for the
service.  I saw that the fluid was kind of dirty looking when I was putting
my filter/temp sender on recently.


I have a '95 E250 with an E4OD transmission.  
Any suggestions appreciated.
