Hi John,

Here is a radical thought. 

In all the SOB's I've used, the level indicators seem to be very flukey
and unreliable.  My '73 has none working, and the service manual doesn't
mention them. To tell you the truth, I can even find the sensors.....

My point is that the sensors may be so funky that fixing them might be
an exercise in futility. Some body rigged a water level gauge out of 
clear tubing, see the archives.
