[VAC] Re: Towing in Overdrive

JL,
It's unlikely that you hurt anything by towing in Direct.

Again, I'll respectfully disagree with Scott: absent a VERY good reason,
I'd always follow the owner's manual's recommendations. The manufacturer
has every incentive to give you the proper advice for YOUR vehicle, it's
not a good thing to get a reputation for "transmissions that aren't up
to towing", or whatever, so they want your outfit to hold together.

If you want the real straight skinny, do some investigation and find
discussion groups like this one that are oriented towards your vehicle.
I have a Dodge P/U with Cummins, and I found http://www.setdr.org,
http://www.dieseltrans.com, and others. Some of these folks make their
livings working on Dodge trucks, know them inside-out, and will give
good, unbiased advice. Just like this group does with A/S trailers.
