[VAC] Re: Winterizing
Jeff -
I have a specially prepared hose for the winter. It's a regular white RV
hose wrapped in a 120volt gutter heating tape (the kind you stick in the
gutter to melt the ice usually available at Lowes, Walmart etc.). It is
covered in the foam pipe insulation and held together with velcro strips.
A foot or two of the gutter heater sticks out both ends allowing you to
wrap it around your connection at the trailer and also the faucet.
Just plug it in to the 120V outlet in the sites service box and walaaaah
- almost room temp water comes into the camper.
Difficulty is that with all that stuff wrapped on it, it won't coil smaller
than a 3' diameter so it's a little harder to store. Worth the inconvenience .
