[VAC] Re: 1950 Airstream

Elaine & Chuck:

Congratulations on your fine purchase, it sounds like a
wonderful trailer.

1950 is a model year with more questions than answers,
but a few more facts might help us identify your trailer.
Is either, one or none of the trailers ends round with an
non-opening oval plexigalss window as opposed to a flat end
with windows that can be opened? If one or more end is
flat, what type of window(s) is/are in the flat end, stacked
short but wide horizontal casement type windows or a more
rectangular single framed window? Is the trailer frame
under the body a single tube "pipe frame" or a more
conventional ladder (also called an "A" or "H") frame? What
is the serial number?

We have no infomration on awnings per se, but look at the
photos of trailers at past West Coast rallies in the Rally
Report area of the VAC web site, and you will gain an idea
of how they looked and worked in the 1950's, along with
ideas for using newer, permanately attached awnings that
fold up for storage & travel and down & out for use when
parked.

If you could possibly post some photos on a home page,
that would also help us ID your trailer. Again,
congratulations!
