[VAC] Hydraulic brake conversion

I have a gutted '62 Globetrotter that I'm planning to use for various
projects in the woods here in California (next to its newer sister, a
'72 Tradewind). It has hydraulic brakes, and an odd size of bearings
which makes an easy conversion to electric impossible. Does anyone have
an spare surge controller that would be suitable for this, or a better
idea for controlling the brakes? I am not too interested in replacing
the whole axle to get electric brakes.
