I have a 1956 26' Overlander that I tow with an '84 LTD Ford with a 5 litre
(302) enging of only 160 hp.  It handles beautifully and passes many 4 door
Frieghtliners towing 5th wheel rigs.  I may be stirring the cauldron but I
would rather get better gas milage and not be in a hurry rather than have a
350 hp engine that gets 8 mpg.  I get 14 mpg.  Your Dodge Dakota should be
fine as it has better gas milage than my LTD.
