[VAC] Re: TAMBOUR

Tambour sheets cut very nicely with a fine blade (80 teeth or more, on a ten
inch diameter circular saw blade) on a good circular table saw.

The width (length of the slats - horizontal dimension for a vertical
operating tambour) would be 1/8" to 1/16" less than the inside width of the
tambour track. [Bottom of groove to bottom of groove minus 1/8 to 1/16 inch]
depending upon how parallel the tracks are to each other. 1/8 " isn't too
sloppy].

Winona is a good tambour manufacturer. National products is another good
one, which makes a lot of real wood tambour.

Be sure to specify the tambour as functional. Some tambour is made with a
lesser backing and is designed to be glued to a substrate for a decorative
effect. This material cannot take the flexing required of a functioning
tambour door.
