[VAC] Re: Roof air conditioner question

There could easily be problems with the compressor lubrication and with
starting after a power interruption (when the compressor tends to fill
with liquid) if not in the normal position. Almost always when the
compressor stops, it bounces off compression and backs up and the gas
pressure drops enough to condense. Then until that liquid leaves the
compressor by draining or by the residual heat of the compressor
evaporating it, the compressor can't start. Running the compressor in
any but its normal position would jeopardize those functions.

They make combs for straightening airconditioner and radiator fins. J.C.
Whitney and other car parts places carry them. One of the car tools
speciality company makes them. Otherwise you can work a fin at a time
with a smooth flat blade screwdriver. The fins can slice your fingers
too as you slide along.
