[VAC] Re: Beatrice Foods?

Folks, let's not let this Beatrice Foods thing get out of hand. There were
some problems, mainly brought about by the bean counters wanting to improve
the bottom line, but there certainly wasn't any marked reduction in quality
of the Airstreams manufactured under the Beatrice group. You don't really
think that Beatrice fired all the Airstream employees and brought in their
own, less-dedicated work force, do you?

Tail-end sags were mostly created by owners who towed with full holding
tanks, or placed heavy loads in the rear of the trailer. Has anyone really
identified any problems caused by Beatrice? How about by Thor?

An Airstream is still one of the finest units built, and with reasonable
care will last for many more years. If you find one that's deteriorated,
find out why....what did the owner do or not do that contributed to that?

Don't be put off by a trailer just because it was manufactured in the
Beatrice period. Check it out anyway.

My 1975 is excellent.....Beatrice did nothing wrong that I know of. The sky
is still up there.
