[VAC] Re: By way of introduction....

Towing a Sovereign with that back bumper will leave bumper in pieces on
the road. You will need a load equalizing hitch mounted to the frame as
a minimum. With such a small truck and such a large trailer, you might
find that you will also want a sway control system as part of the hitch.

You don't say the engine, transmission, or axle ratio, but I suspect
your F-150 is not rated to handle the weight of the Sovereign. You will
also need a brake controller to operate the trailer brakes.

Start with your owner's manual looking for trailer towing ratings (the
ratings stamped on the back bumper are NOT the truck ratings). Then find
out the dry weight of the Sovereign and add at least 1000 pounds for
liquids, provisions, books, and toys. Then add up the family weights
because everything riding in the truck takes away from the trailer
towing capacity.

Your F-150 may begin to handle this load on a level road, but will be
overloaded on most any hill or head wind.
