I hear all the reasons for a hard surface floor and they make ultimate 
sense. However, I am going with carpet, even though
we have 2 dogs. (house broken)  I may find vacuuming tedious and rip it 
up at some point but I am attached to the idea of a
soft surface under my feet and the cozy atmosphere it creates.  It is 
certainly reversible; so little space to correct. We
will lay the carpet after all inside remodeling is complete. It won't go 
under anything thus be easy to change.  Thanks for
