[VAC] Cleaning polish gunk

Hello Listies:

Can someone give me a reccomendation on what works best to clean off 
residue from polishing a trailer using the Rolite polishes?  Some of the 
typical household cleaners I tried produced cloudy results on the 
aluminum (not the desired result).

I need something that can be readily purchased at a Lowe's Hardware 
store or a grocery store -- don't have many other options in my small 
town.
