[VAC] Re: Q: Trailer wiring: New car. Old Airstream?

Michael,

Unless your '63 has backup lights you will only have a 6 prong connector on
the trailer, but do not worry. Most assuredly you will need to plan on
having the trailer's plug replaced. Hopefully Land Rover also gave you the
trailer end of the plug. If not go back to them and ask for one. From your
description it sounds like you have the standard Ford RV plug on your LR. I
have found that their quality is a bit better than the other plugs currently
available. Either plan to spend an hour replacing the trailer's plug and
figuring out that wiring, or take the trailer directly to the nearest place
that will do it for you.

You will need a brake controller. These are normally mounted on the dash of
the tow vehicle. It will wire into your existing wiring and plug.
