The normal cleaning only address's the filters in the lower section. Any dealings
with the upper section require extreme caution because the AC shroud will be very
brittle from age and sun exposure. The area around the anchor bolt holes seems
particularly weak. If you go there make sure the fins are not mashed together. If so
they need to be raked. There is a tool just for this.
FYI Coleman makes a set of filters for their current model AC's that comes very
close to the size needed for the Armstrong's. Just a little trimming and they pop
right in.
